The Rissler Elementary School PTO met Tuesday night, continuing the planning for the spring activity and book fair and voting to help pay for bus transportation to the Children?s Literature Festival.

PTO members discussed ideas for the annual basket auction, which will be held in conjunction with a book fair from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 29. Ideas for baskets this year include Legos, Polly Pockets, Barbie and Hot Wheels, kindergarten; cooking, first grade; bath items, second grade; gardening items, third grade; and outdoor items (such as items for picnics, pool, coolers, etc), fourth grade. There will also be baskets containing books, a room makeover and other items, which are still being developed. More information will be sent home to parents as plans are finalized and the event draws closer.

In other business, the group agreed to spend approximately $300 to pay for one of the two buses needed to transport students to the Children?s Literature Festival in Warrensburg on March 8.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 1.
