The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its recipients for both Business of the Year 2005, and Ambassador of the Year 2005.

The Trenton Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its recipients for both Business of the Year 2005, and Ambassador of the Year 2005.
Being honored as Business of the Year is Trenton Hy-Vee. The Ambassador of the Year is Bonita Price, who presently serves as Chairperson of the Ambassadors.
In being nominated for the Chamber Business of the Year, Hy-Vee is recognized for being one of the largest area employers, hiring youth for first jobs, utilizing veteran grocery employees, and donating to numerous local and area causes.
Hy-Vee hosts activities for the Trenton Band, Quarterback Club, Rotary, United Way, the Chamber of Commerce, and local food pantry to name a few. New services include delivering groceries to senior citizens.
Steve Busch is the Hy-Vee store director.
The Ambassador of the Year recipient, Bonita Price, is no stranger to community service in Trenton. She has served on the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors for 12 years. Those who work with Bonita on Chamber activities state that they can always count on Bonita to carry out all activities with her bubbly smile. She has worked on the Ethics Seminar, Trick or Treat Night, Membership Development, Christmas activities, ribbon cutting ceremonies, and dozens of other projects throughout the years. She is married to Jim Price. The couple has 2 children, Shannon and Michelle, as well as a son-in-law Jeremy Simmons and one granddaughter, Hayden Simmons.
Hy-Vee and Mrs. Price will be honored at the chamber?s annual meeting, which will be held at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 5 at the Lakeview Restaurant. Tickets are $18 for chamber members and $20 for non-members. Reservations can be made by calling the chamber at 359-4324 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or e-mailing them to [email protected]. The deadline is Feb. 1.
The keynote speaker for the event is former Trenton resident Clair Elsberry, who has had various positions in local, state and federal government and has worked for Kit Bond and John Ashcroft.
