Doris ?Dodie? Lutzky, an 81-year-old resident of Eastview Manor, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at the manor, where she had resided for almost two years.

Doris ?Dodie? Lutzky, an 81-year-old resident of Eastview Manor, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at the manor, where she had resided for almost two years.

Mrs. Lutzky was born Nov. 20, 1923 in Linneus, the daughter of Bert and Geneva Thomas. She attended elementary school and high school in Linneus. She also attended the University of Missouri-Columbia and then continued her studies at the University of Iowa, where she earned a masters degree in art history.

She was married to Seymour Lutzky in 1945. He survives of the home in Jamesport.

Mrs. Lutzky and her husband moved to Maryland after college, where she taught preschool and in 1961, they relocated to Honolulu, HA, where he accepted a professorship at the University of Hawaii. She then worked for 25 years at the Honolulu Academy of Arts as the head librarian in charge of the slide collection. She and her husband traveled extensively during their marriage and her hobbies included cooking and serving as hostess for friends. Mrs. Lutzky was diagnosed with Alzheimer?s Disease in 1999 and in 2001 the couple moved to Jamesport to be closer to their daughter and her husband, Debbie and Peter Allen.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Lutzky is survived by two daughters, Deanna Linn and her family, of Philadelphia, PA, and Debbie Allen and her family of Jamesport; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
