Due to the death of Grundy County Prosecutor Chris Raynes, Third Judicial Circuit Court Judge Andrew Krohn has appointed Trenton attorney Jason Spillman as interim Grundy County Prosecutor. Spillman will serve until Gov. Matt Blunt names a successor to fill the remainder of Raynes? term.
Raynes also served as attorney for the city of Trenton and City Administrator Kerry Sampson said the city council will begin the process of deciding who will be appointed to fill the position.
In a related note, Trenton Municipal Court, which had been scheduled for Tuesday, has been cancelled.
All cases scheduled for Tuesday have been continued to Feb. 1 at 9 a.m.
