Christopher P. Raynes, 53, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 at his home at 99 Country Club Place in Trenton.

The body was cremated and no services are planned.

Mr. Raynes was born July 22, 1951 in Kansas City, the son of Walter C. and Betty Ahring Raynes.

He was married on Aug. 5, 1996 at Harrison, AR, to Diane Walker, who survives of the home.

Mr. Raynes graduated from Odessa High School in 1969 and earned a bachelors degree in political science and a juris doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Mr. Raynes served as an attorney for Truman State University in Kirksville from 1975 to 1977 and had been a partner in the law firm of Pickett and Raynes since 1977. He had served as Trenton City Attorney since 1980 and as Grundy County Prosecuting Attorney since 1998.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Raynes is survived by his parents, Walter and Betty Raynes of Green Valley, AZ; two brothers, Steve Raynes and his wife, Vicki of Buckner, and Mark Raynes of Shawnee, KS; and his cat, Barney.
