John Louis Hixson, a 79-year-old resident of Galt, died at 8:20 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 at the Grand River Health Care Nursing Home in Chillicothe.

John Louis Hixson, a 79-year-old resident of Galt, died at 8:20 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 at the Grand River Health Care Nursing Home in Chillicothe.
The body has been cremated under the direction of the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Hixson was born on June 3, 1925 in Donnellson, IA, the son of H.B. and Minnie Steffens Hixson. He served in the U.S. Navy. He farmed north of Galt for 36 years.
He is survived by two brothers, Harold Hixson and Harvey Hixson of Martelle, IA; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Charles Hixson.
