The Jamesport City Council met Tuesday night, hearing a report on concession stand work and discussing water issues.

According to information provided by City Clerk Carol Cass, Russ Hopkins of the Jamesport Lions Club discussed plans the club has to replace the existing concession stand building at the park with a brick structure that would have a metal roof. While much of the labor and materials has been pledged through other sources, the city was asked for its help. No action was taken.

Mayor J.L. Eckelberry advised members that the Livingston County Public Water District No. 4 would be meeting on Jan. 28 to approve a preliminary engineering application, submitted by their engineer, for the planned new water source. It was announced that Jerry Piece has filed for the mayor’s position while Earle Wright has filed for west ward alderman and Virginia Hopkins has filed for east ward alderman. There was also discussion of routine equipment repairs and employee work schedules.

The next meeting of the council will be Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 5:15 p.m.
