The Grundy County Law Enforcement Committee has planned several public meetings in area communities to discuss the proposed one-half cent sales tax for a new county/city law enforcement center.
In addition to presentations being made to civic groups and organizations, the committee plans to hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17 at the Spickard Fire Station, with another one scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27 at the Laredo Fire Station and a third presentation to be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28 at Cindy?s Cafe in Galt. Members of the public are encouraged to attend one of the meeting to ask questions and gain information about the proposed sales tax issue, which is on the Feb. 8 ballot.
In addition to the public meetings, tours of the Grundy County Jail will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21 and Friday, Jan. 28.
