The Church of the Nazarene at Trenton has announced it would be accepting donations to assist with the tsunami disaster in southern Asia.
Pastor Steve Bramblett said donations will be given to the International Church of the Nazarene, which is responding to the disaster through its compassionate ministries program. Local residents wanting to make a contribution can send them to the Trenton Church of the Nazarene, 2113 Chicago St., Trenton, MO 64683. Donations should be marked “Tidal Wave Relief.”
The Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church has also announced it is accepting contributions through its Committee on Relief, which will also be used to assist in disaster efforts.
According to Robert Schnase, resident bishop of Missouri’s United Methodist Churches, 100 percent of the funds donated through the Committee on Relief or through local United Methodist Churches will go toward the relief efforts. Administration costs for the COR are paid by local United Methodist churches as part of their regular mission support ministry. Persons wanting to make a donation can do so through the Wesley United Methodist Church at Trenton or send it to UMCOR, 475 Riverside Drive, Room 330, New York, NY 10015.
