Marshall Rawlings Hughes, a 79-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 at the Livingston Manor in Chillicothe.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.

There is no scheduled family visitation. General visitation will be held from noon to 9 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 4, 2005 and from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Hughes was born on July 20, 1925 in Hebron, NE, the son of Ezra and Stella Mae Rawlings Hughes Sr. He was married on March29, 1945 in Kansas City, KS to Wanda Douglas, who survives of Livingston Manor.

Mr. Hughes worked for Donaldson’s Company at Chillicothe for over 25 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 656, the Eagles Lodge, the VFW and the American Legion.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Mike Hughes and his wife, Marcia, of North Kansas City, and Gary Hughes and his wife, Dana, of Chillicothe; two brothers, Glen O. Hughes of Warsaw and Ezra “Junior” Hughes of Utica; two grandchildren, Heather Gardner and Josh Hughes; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Gardner, Madelyn Gardner and Jack Gardner.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Krystal Lynn Hughes; a brother, Hall Hughes; and a sister, Doris Ireland.
