An Iowa woman has accepted the position of superintendent at the Tri-County R-7 School District for the 2005-2006 school year.

According to board president Richard Dustman, Mary Kish of Mt. Pleasant, IA has accepted the position and will begin her duties on July 1. She is a native of the Maryville area and has most recently been employed at a community college. Dustman said Ms. Kish was one of nine applicants for the position and one of six who were interviewed for the position.

Ms. Kish will replace the current superintendent, Ron Garber, who has announced his resignation effective June 30.
