The deadline is approaching to make reservations to attend the third annual Great Northwest Day at the Capitol, scheduled for Feb. 1-2 at Jefferson City.
Transportation and economic development will be the major topics of discussion, with those attending having the chance to meet with area legislators, state elected officials and department heads to discuss those topics as well as other issues. The group will also be introduced in both the House of Representatives and Senate chambers as well as participate in a luncheon and an evening buffet, featuring New Orleans-style band. Each participating community or county is also being given booth space during the evening event for a display to showcase their area.
Persons wanting to attend the event are asked to contact the chamber at 359-4324 to make reservations. The cost is $35 per person, which includes the luncheon, dinner, other evening activities and breakfast on Feb. 2. Transportation is not provided, however, persons may check with the chamber about efforts to carpool. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Capitol Plaza Hotel under “Great Northwest” for persons planning to stay the night. Reservations can be made at 1-800-338-8088 and must be made by Thursday, Jan. 13.
