Evelyn Keithley, an 86-year-old former Humphreys resident, died at 6:19 a.m., today (Monday, Dec. 27, 2004) at the Milan Health Care Center in Milan, where she had resided since Jan. 4.

Evelyn Keithley, an 86-year-old former Humphreys resident, died at 6:19 a.m., today (Monday, Dec. 27, 2004) at the Milan Health Care Center in Milan, where she had resided since Jan. 4.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 at the Mt. Zion Christian Church, located south of Humphreys. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
A family visitation is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004 at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt.
Mrs. Keithley was born March 4, 1918 near Humphreys, the daughter of Albert and Flossie Elwood Cutsinger. She attended the Whaley Grade School and Humphreys High School.
On March 4, 1936, she was married to Fern Keithley at Trenton. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1996.
The couple farmed all of their married lives in Sullivan County and she was a kitchen aide at the Milan Health Care Center for 11 years before her retirement. Mrs. Keithley was a member of the Mt. Zion Christian Church.
Mrs. Keithley is survived by a son, Terry Keithley and his wife, Janell of Browning; a daughter, Kay Young of Humphreys; five grandchildren and their spouses, Steve and Janet Young, Bill and Deb Young, Tony and Kathy Young, Jackie and Darren Smith and Chad and Betsy Keithley; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, three brothers and three sisters.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
