Roy C. Westfall, an 83-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died at his residence of Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 after a battle with cancer.

Roy C. Westfall, an 83-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died at his residence of Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 after a battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens at Chillicothe.

General visitation is under way until 9 o’clock tonight (Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004) at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe and on Thursday from 11 a.m. to service time at the church.

Mr. Westfall was born on Nov. 8, 1921 in New Boston, the son of Clarence and Floy Westfall. He was a veteran of World War II, having served four years in the Navy. He was a member of the First Baptist Church at Chillicothe, the Mid-American Lumbermen’s Association, the Moila Masonic Temple, the Scottish Rite, the Chillicothe Blue Lodge, the Chillicothe Shrine Club, the Legion of Honor, the Chillicothe Country Club and the Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; a daughter, Cheryl Westfall of Honolulu, HI; two step-daughters, Rebecca Landreth and her husband, Mike, of Denison, TX and Robin Bodenhausen and her husband, Galen, of Cosby; one sister, Ruby Ettinger of Brookfield; seven step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Terry Westfall; one grandson, Matthew Myers; three brothers, Claude, Ernest and Eldon Westfall; and two sisters, Mabel Bailey and Nola Cokerham.

The family suggests memorials to the Hedrick Medical Center Home Health Hospice or the First Baptist Church Building Fund. They may be left at or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, MO 64601.
