Catherine J. Brownawell, a 92-year-old resident of Kansas City, KS, died on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004. She is a native of Mercer County.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. A family visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004 at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home in Kansas City, KS.
Mrs. Brownawell was born on Oct. 27, 1912 in Mercer County, the daughter of Jacob Albert and Elizabeth Smith Ader. She grew up in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, Canada on her family?s homestead, returning with her family to Princeton, where she finished high school.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Gerald D. Brownawell; three sons, Jerry Brownawell and his wife, Judy, of Kansas City, KS, Dale Brownawell and his wife, Eva, of State College, PA and Lowell Brownawell and his wife, Sue, of Kansas City, KS; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roy Ader of East Moline, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and seven brothers.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society.
