Ed Lickey, an 83-year-old resident of 430 W. 13th St. in Trenton, died at 7:14 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.

Ed Lickey, an 83-year-old resident of 430 W. 13th St. in Trenton, died at 7:14 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2004 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Trenton. Rev. Denny Chesnut will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Trenton.

There is no scheduled family visitation. General visitation is under way at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton.

Mr. Lickey was born on Aug. 19, 1921 on a farm near Galt, the son of Austin Coleman and Tena Esther Sprout Lickey. He attended schools in Galt, Utica and Trenton. He was married on June 1, 1941 at Gallatin to Juanita Barnett, who survives of the home in Trenton.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and following his discharge, he was employed as a service manager for Lamberson Motors in Oskaloosa, IA for 22 years before moving to Trenton, where he was employed as a car salesman for McVay Motor Company until he retired. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Nolan Lickey of Orem, UT and Mark Lickey of Fulton; one brother, Leo Lickey of Newton, IA; and three grandsons, Brian Lickey of Orem, Adam Lickey of Fulton and Jay Lickey of Castaic, CA.

The family suggest memorials to the First Baptist Church.
