Trenton FFA Barnwarming Set For Saturday Night
The Trenton FFA Barnwarming will be held Saturday night at the Rock Barn.
The event will be held from 7 to 10:30 pm. Throughout the evening, candidates, FFA members and other THS students will compete in competitions, which will help determine who is crowned barnwarming king and queen. The crowning ceremony will take place at approximately 9:30 pm.
Candidates include freshmen Emily Schmidt and Jacob Beverlin, sophomores Krystal Meraz and J.K. BeVelle, juniors Ashten Witten and Derek Lowrey and seniors Stephanie Gutshall and Jeff Stevens.
Emily Schmidt is the daughter of Larry and Carolyn Schmidt. She is 15 years old and is enrolled in Ag Science I. She is currently serving as junior offficer secretary. She has shown dairy cows at the state fair, attended the Area II Greenhand Initiation and participated in the local creed speaking contest.
Jacob Beverlin is the son of Mike and Pam Beverlin. He is 14 years old and is enrolled in Ag Science I. He has helped in the FFA cookshack and attended the pool party.
Krystal Meraz is the daughter of Maria Meraz and Horacio Rodriguez. She is 15 years old and is enrolled in Ag Science II. She has participated in FFA week activities, was on the Floriculture team and attended the chapter ski trip.
J.K. BeVelle is the son of Don BeVelle and Rhonda Lager. He is 16 years old and is currently enrolled in Ag Science II. He has attended the bowling trip and the chapter degree ceremony.
Ashten Witten is the daughter of Tom and Kim Witten. She is 17 years old and is enrolled in Greenhouse Operations and Management. She has competed on the FFA Knowledge Team that placed fourth at state as well as the Parliamentary Procedure team. She has also attended the FFA National Convention.
Derek Lowrey is the son of David and Melissa Lowrey. Derek is 17 years old and is enrolled in Advanced Animal Science as well as Ag Construction I. He is currently serving as chapter treasurer. He has attended national convention and state FFA camp as well as state convention.
Stephanie Gutshall is the daughter of Dennis and Marcia Gutshall. She is 17 years old and is enrolled in the Advanced Animal Science class. She is currently serving as first vice president of the chapter. She has attended and competed at both the state and national conventions and was on the dairy cattle team that took fifth in the nation. Following graduation, she plans on attending the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Jeff Stevens is the son of Ron McClure and Donna Stevens. Jeff is 17 years old and is enrolled in Ag Construction II. He has attended national convention and was in the state FFA choir for three years. After graduation, Jeff plans to go to Advanced Individualized Training for the Army National Guard and then attend college at CMSU to obtain a bachelor?s degree in criminal justice.
