Marvis Holt Davis, a 76-year-old resident of the Kansas City area, died on Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004. She was a native of Grundy County.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2004 at the Floral Hills Chapel in Kansas City.

Mrs. Davis was born on March 15, 1928 in Galt, the daughter of Ora and Dessie Holt. She was a graduate of Trenton Junior College and a 1951 graduate of Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville. She taught in rural schoolhouses and in Bethany until her marriage. She was founder/director of Eastwood Hills Preschool.

She is survived by her husband of 49 1/2 years, Rev. Harry B. Davis; six daughters, Dawn, Melody, Delight, Miracle, Heather and Heidi; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Justin Holt; and one sister, Erma Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Calvin and Kermit Holt; and one grandson, Matthew Wise.
