Clarence Junior Tolle, a 61-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died at his home today (Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004).
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Wheeling Cemetery.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 at the funeral home. A visitation will also be held from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
Mr. Tolle was born on July 30, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the son of Clarence “Bud” Tolle and Letha Johnson. He was a 1960 graduate of Wheeling High School and a 1962 graduate of North Central Missouri College in Trenton. He worked for McIntosh Truck and Tractor, Rupp Automotive, Chillicothe Diesel, Morrison Implement of Columbus Junction, IA, Ross-Frazer Distributing of St. Joseph, MFA of Chillicothe and Shearer Ag of Chillicothe. He was a member of the Chillicothe United Methodist Church, was past president of the Optimist Club and was a member of the Chillicothe Eagles and Vern R. Glick Post No. 25, American Legion. He was also the former mayor and councilman at Wheeling.
He was married on June 3, 1963 in Chula to Pauline Fields, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, William “Bill” Tolle and his wife, Connie, of Laclede, Dale Tolle of Moberly and Dean Tolle and his wife, Jennifer, of Brookfield; a daughter, Cathy Muck and her husband, Bob, of Linneus; his mother, Letha Johnson of Chillicothe; his father, Bud Tolle, and his wife, Ina, of Trenton; eight brothers, Donald Johnson of Chillicothe, Ray Johnson of Conesville, IA, Bob Tolle of Milan, Jerry Tolle of the state of Kansas, David Tolle of the state of California and George Tolle, John Tolle and Ernie Tolle, all of Ames, IA; a sister, Clanice Waters of Des Moines, IA; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his step-father; and a brother, Joe Tolle.
