Winners have been announced in the 2004-2005 Voice of Democracy oratory contest, sponsored by the Joseph L. Norton VFW Post No. 919 and Ladies Auxiliary.
Teresa Applebury was the first-place winner. Second place went to Ashley Barlow and Santana Dios was third. All are students at Trenton High School.
The theme of the competition was “Celebrating Our Veteran’s Service.” The students will be honored at the VFW’s annual Valentine’s award dinner on Feb. 14.
