J. D. Harris, an 81-year-old resident of 1707 Lakeside Terrace in Trenton, died on Saturday morning, Nov. 6, 2004 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.

J. D. Harris, an 81-year-old resident of 1707 Lakeside Terrace in Trenton, died on Saturday morning, Nov. 6, 2004 at the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at the Slater Funeral Home. Brother Trent Shupperd will official. Burial will be in Stucker Cemetery, south of Laredo.

A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 o?clock tonight (Monday, Nov. 8, 2004) at the funeral home.

Mr. Harris was born on Sept. 10, 1923 in Purdin, the son of Lyle C. and Viola Falconer Harris. He attended Purdin schools. He lived in Edina, Des Moines, IA and Laredo before moving to Trenton. He was a retired farmer.

Mr. Harris was a member of the Laredo Christian Church at Laredo.

He was married on March 10, 1943 at Edina to Irene Shinn, who survives of the home.

He is also survived by one daughter, Sharon Kelly of Higbee; four sons, Richard Harris of Pensacola, FL, J. D. Harris Jr. of Laredo, Darrell Harris of Brookfield and Lyle Harris of Moberly; one sister, Hazel McConnell of LaPlata; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Noland Harris, Gerald Harris, Cecil Harris and Harold Harris; and one grandson, Ryan Harris.

The family suggests memorials to the Wright Memorial Hospice.
