Mildred Lee Ratliff, a 90-year-old resident of the Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline, died at 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24 2004 at the nursing center. She was a former resident of Brimson.

Mildred Lee Ratliff, a 90-year-old resident of the Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline, died at 4:20 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24 2004 at the nursing center. She was a former resident of Brimson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. A visitation will be held from 1:30 pm. until service time on Tuesday.

Burial will be in the Edinburg I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Mrs. Ratliff was born on March 9, 1914 in Brimson, the daughter of Thomas and Hila Hughs Murray. She attended Brimson School. For the past 20 years she had lived in Marceline.

On Jan. 2, 1931, she was married to Dow Ratliff in Trenton. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include a granddaughter, Debby Dowell of Marceline; a grandson, Steve Ratliff of Kansas City; a daughter-in-law, Mariam Ratliff of Marceline; six great-grandchildren, Katie Ratliff, Laura Ratliff and Stephen Ratliff of Kansas City, Fara Hill of Marceline, Adam Dowell of Los Angeles, CA and Brett Dowell, who is stationed in Germany; and a great-great-granddaughter, Megan Hill of Marceline.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Elmer Ray Ratliff; three brothers, Sherman, Joe and Bill Murray; and three sisters, Ola Hall, Emily Show and Mae Henderson.
