William Lloyd McMullen, an 87-year-old resident of Lee’s Summit died on Monday, Oct. 18, 2004 at a Lee’s Summit hospital. He was a Trenton native.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, 2004 at the Langsford Funeral Home in Lee’s Summit. Burial will be at the Lee’s Summit Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, prior to the funeral service.
Mr. McMullen was born on Sept. 11, 1917 in Trenton. He resided in Torrance, CA, working for National Supply Co. (now Armco Steel) in Torrance. He was a veteran of World War II as a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, participating in five assaults and troop landings in the Pacific. He and his family moved in 1954 to Lee’s Summit, where he was employed by Bendix-Allied Signal for 29 years, retiring in 1983.
Mr. McMullen was a 50-year Master Mason of the Grand Lodge No. 111 AF&AM at Trenton.
Mr. McMullen is survived by his wife, Marian McMullen; a daughter, Mary Godfrey of Independence; a step-son, Bob Heard and his wife, Pat, of Idaho Falls, ID; two grandchildren, Sarah Godfrey of Glendale, CA, and Tyler Heard of Mesa, AZ; a brother, Harry McMullen of Cottonwood, AZ; and two nieces, Jean Black of Denver, CO, and Patricia Mikles of Cottonwood.
