County Commission Adopts Assessment Ordinance
The Grundy County Commission met today, adopting an ordinance that allows the county to opt-out of new tax assessment regulations.
According to County Clerk Kristi Urich, the commission voted to adopt the ordinance, which will affect all taxing entities in Grundy County. The ordinance allows the county?s taxing entities to opt out the regulations, which would have required separate tax levies to be set for each type of property.
In other business, the commission discussed a recent meeting held between the city of Trenton, the Missouri Department of Transportation and the county concerning the intersection of Highway 65 and 28th Street, which has been the site of several motor vehicle accidents. The city and county were told that the issue will be looked at, with a representative to meet with the two groups again in November to discuss possible action to be taken.
