Ruth Beckner, a 97-year-old resident of 702 Haliburton St., in Trenton, died on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004 at Wright Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, 2004 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton. Burial will be at the Rural Dale Cemetery, east of Trenton.
A visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton. The family will be at Mrs. Beckner’s home.
Mrs. Beckner was born on Dec. 2, 1906 in Galt, the daughter of Ernest Clifton and Fannie Ethel Rowoth Rains. She attended Dunlap schools.
She was a member of the Ladies Railroad Auxiliary in Trenton and the First Baptist Church of Trenton.
She was married on Dec. 2, 1925 at Laredo to Loren Beckner, who preceded her in death on Feb. 22, 1980.
Mrs. Beckner is survived by two sisters, Wilma McAtee and Fern Rains, both of Trenton; two brothers, Claude Rains of La Mesa, CA, and Marvin Rains and his wife, Elaine, of Spickard.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Beckner, who died on Nov. 11, 2002.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Trenton or to the donor’s choice.
