Raymond F. Harbert, an 87-year-old resident of Chillicothe died on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was a former resident of Chula.

Raymond F. Harbert, an 87-year-old resident of Chillicothe died on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004 at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe. He was a former resident of Chula.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004 at the Plainview Cemetery at Chula. A family visitation will be held from 7 to 9 o’clock tonight (Monday, Oct. 11, 2004) at the Heritage Funeral Home in Chillicothe, where general visitation is now under way.

Mr. Harbert was born on Feb. 13, 1917 in Chula, the son of William Austin and Grace Viola Rudd Harbert. He was a graduate of Chula High School and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed fishing after spending long hours working on the farm.

He was married on April 30, 1940 in Chillicothe to Marjorie Irene Stockwell, who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Forrest Harbert and his wife, Shirley, of Avalon; two daughters, Gracie Lucas of Chillicothe and Donna Vermilyea and her husband, Ferold of St. Joseph; eight grandchildren, Diane Anderson of Carrollton, Wayne Harbert and his wife, Diane, of Hale, Charles Harbert of Chillicothe, David Lucas and his wife, Lana, of Savannah, Ann Howe of Brookfield, Steven Lucas and his wife, Jennifer, of Ankeny, IA, Cathy Mulnix of Brookfield and Sara Myers and her husband, John, of Independence; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
