Grundy County 4-H members were recognized for their accomplishments during the past year at a program on Sunday afternoon at the Pleasant View R-6 School.

Grundy County 4-H members were recognized for their accomplishments during the past year at a program on Sunday afternoon at the Pleasant View R-6 School.

Named as the Outstanding 4-H Girl, 14-and-over was Dinah Maxwell. The Outstanding 4-H Boy, 13-and-under, was Tyler Lynch while Lindsey Derry was named the Outstanding 4-H Girl, 13-and under. The Key Award for leadership went to Rebekah Maxwell. Megan Derry was named the Outstanding Clover Kid.

The Cookbook Award went to Rebekah Capeder and Lindsey Derry. Crystal Pash received the Outstanding Treasurer?s Book award while record book medals went to Jessica Pash, grades 9 to 12; Taylor Lynch, grades 6 to 8; and Megan Derry, Clover Kid to grade 5. Chanel Pash won the canning award. The club seal award went to the Helping Hands 4-H Club.

Named as Friends of 4-H were Grundy Electric Cooperative, the Trenton Republican-Times, KTTN radio, the United Way and Dave Davis. Noreen Maxwell was named outstanding 4-H leader. Other awards presented during the afternoon included:

Horse Judging – Kyle Russell, Emily Anderson, Pake Croy, Taylor Lynch and Kori Grogan.

State Level Demonstrations – Kade Kinney, Emily Anderson, Jason Ausberger, Brent Applebury and Tabitha Glenn.

Fashion Review – Freddie Griffin.

Volunteer Pins – Lance and Tinna Croy, Stacy and Kyle Russell and Joanna Anderson, five years; Brad Maxwell and Susan Plumb, 10 years; Carrol Key, Patsy Griffin and Shani Kinney, 15 years; and Mary Ellen Johnson, 20 years.

Rabbit Ridge Rustlers-White 4-H Club – Casey Turley, rookie of the year; Samantha Johns, outstanding Clover Kid; Pleasant View R-6 School, Friend of 4-H; and the Dale Leeper family, Spirit of 4-H.
