Paul E. Johnson, an 81-year-old resident of Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, died at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004 at the nursing home, where he had resided since May 18, 2004. He was a former Laredo resident.

Paul E. Johnson, an 81-year-old resident of Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, died at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004 at the nursing home, where he had resided since May 18, 2004. He was a former Laredo resident.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will follow military graveside rites at the Resthaven Mortuary Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
Open visitation begins after 8 a.m. on Tuesday at the mortuary.
Mr. Johnson was born on Dec. 13, 1922 near Chula in Livingston County, the son of Clint and Brenda Jones Johnson. He was married on Jan. 4, 1942 in Trenton to Mayme Jean Lovell, who survives of the nursing home. After their marriage, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a military policeman, stationed in England until 1945. The couple lived most of their married lives in the Trenton and Laredo communities.
Mr. Johnson was employed by the Missouri Department of Transportation for over 37 years in addition to farming. After retiring, the couple moved into Trenton to make their home eight years ago.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Tenth Street Baptist church, the Laredo Lions Club and the State Highway and Transportation Employees Association of Missouri.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael Wayne Johnson and his wife, Sue, of Trenton; one daughter, Paulette, now Mrs. Lyle Clubine of Kansas City; two sisters, Margaret Broyles of Willow Springs and Verna Louise Spencer of Eldon; three grandchildren, Paul and Larry Clubine and Bryan Johnson; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Johnson; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Jean Clubine.
