Funeral services for Frieda L. Osborn will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004 at the Galt Christian Church. Brother Stan Richardson and Brother Mark Peck will officiate.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 o’clock this evening (Friday, Sept. 17, 2004) at the Payne Funeral Home in Galt. Burial will be in the Berry Cemetery, north of Galt.
Mrs. Osborn, an 84-year-old former Galt resident, died at 2:45 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 16, 2004 at the Grand River Health Care in Chillicothe, where she had resided for the past year.
Mrs. Osborn was born on Sept. 23, 1919 in Osgood, the daughter of Vernie and Ruth Berry Johnson. She attended the Galt schools. She was married on Aug. 31, 1938 to Robert H. Osborn, who preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 1979. The couple lived three years in Olympia, WA, then moved back to the Berry community, north of Galt, where they farmed. Mrs. Osborn enjoyed gardening, visiting with the elderly and her grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Ronald Osborn and his wife, Rose, and Murlin Osborn and his wife, Janice, both of Trenton, and Goldie Wilford and her husband, Jerry, of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Kendall Osborn and his wife, Carol, of Galt, Andy Osborn and his wife, Anita, of Trenton, Eric Wilford and his wife, Pam, of Knoxville, IL, and Teresa Gaines and her husband, Mike, of Chillicothe; two step-grandchildren, Robbie and Ronnie Kincade of Trenton; 10 great-grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Ashley and Ayron Osborn of Trenton, Michaela, Kurtis and Dalton Gaines of Chillicothe, Joel and Kyle Wilford of Knoxville and Isabella Caldarella of Galt; and one sister-in-law, Frances Sawyer of Modesto, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a grandson, Kirk Osborn.
The family suggests memorials to the Berry Cemetery. They may be left at the funeral home in Galt.
