Grundy County Clerk Kristi Urich is reminding county residents that Oct. 6 is the deadline for persons to register to vote in the Nov. 2 General Election.
Mrs. Urich said persons who experienced problems with voting in the August primary are asked to contact her office to ensure that they are legally registered to vote in Grundy County. If someone has registered in another county, even if they registered through the Department of Motor Vehicles in another county, they must register again in Grundy County. If a resident has any questions or concerns about their eligibility to vote in Grundy County, they are asked to contact the clerk?s office as soon as possible to avoid problems at the polls on election day.
Mrs. Urich said absentee ballots will be available later in the month and her office will notify the media when they are ready to be cast by voters or sent to those who request them by mail.
