William “Billy” Dale Bender, a 54-year-old resident of Excelsior Springs, died on Friday, Aug. 20, 2004 at the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City from lung cancer. The body was cremated.

Mr. Bender was born on May 30, 1950 in Denver, CO, the son of William M. and Ruby Clarabelle Bender. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Mr. Bender is survived by his father, William Bender of Excelsior Springs; two brothers, Michael Bender of Winter Garden, FL, and Roger Bender of Alcester, SD; an aunt and uncle, Avis and Bennie Hamilton of Trenton; and several cousins.
