Ruth Cates Risser, a 92-year-old resident of Kansas City, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004. She was a former Trenton resident.

Ruth Cates Risser, a 92-year-old resident of Kansas City, died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004. She was a former Trenton resident.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Trenton. Burial will be in the Risser Cemetery in Pennsylvania. Arrangements are under the direction of D.W. Newcomer?s Sons White Chapel Funeral Home in Gladstone.
Mrs. Risser was born on Aug. 15, 1912 in Richmond, the daughter of Elmer and Daisy Cates. She attended Central Methodist College and DePauw University, she was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority. She was a graduate of the University of Missouri. She was a music teacher in Trenton for 30 years.
Mrs. Risser was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton and was a member of PEO and the Daughter of the American Revolution.
She is survived by her daughter, Martha Risser of Kansas City; and a niece, Cherryl Runnels of Phoenix, AZ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Risser; one brother, Edwin Cates; four sisters, Faye McCluskey, Grace Cates, Veryl Weber and Emma Gene Crowley; a nephew, Duncan Weber; and three nieces, Ann Crowley Sembler, Louise Crowley Bono and Virginia Jane Weber Powers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton.
