Donna S. Gonzalez, a 53-year-old resident of 1914 S. Northern Blvd. in Independence, died on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004 at her home.
The body has been cremated. There is no service planned.
Ms. Gonzalez was born on Jan. 6, 1951 in Trenton, the daughter of James and Delaina Sawyer Powell. She lived in California from 1966 until 1998 when she moved back to Independence. She was a cage cashier for the Ameristar Casino.
Ms. Gonzalez is survived by her mother, Delaina Purdy of Independence; a daughter, Gloria Speasl and her husband, David of Eugene, OR; three sons, Ron Powell and his wife, Corry, of Virginia and Rocky and Ryan Gonzalez of Independence; a granddaughter, Selena Gonzalez of Independence; a sister, Pat Lyytinen and her husband, Reno, of Minnesota; and several cousins living in the Trenton area.
She was preceded in death by her father; her step-father, Roberts Purdy; and her grandparents, Arthur (Bud) and Merle Sawyer.
