Youth from Trenton, Chillicothe and Hamilton showed the top entries in the North Central Missouri Fair Swine Show, held Wednesday.

Youth from Trenton, Chillicothe and Hamilton showed the top entries in the North Central Missouri Fair Swine Show, held Wednesday.

Sabrina Bennett of Trenton showed the supreme champion market hog while the reserve champion was shown by Adam Wolf of Chillicothe. Wolf showed the supreme champion gilt with the reserve champion gilt being shown by Calvin Stover of Ridgeway. The supreme champion boar was shown by Tyler Alden of Hamilton. Heath Oram of Gilman City had the reserve champion. The supreme champion barrow belonged to Taylor Bennett of Trenton. Heath Oram had the reserve champion.

There were three showmanship awards presented this year. Winners included Seth Rulon of Marceline, 8 to 10; Bailey Pope of Lathrop, 11 to 14; and Tyler Alden, 15-and-over. The county performance award was presented to Kari Epperson of Laredo.

Breed champions in the gilt show included:

Berkshire – Ross Oram of Gilman City, champion; Stefanie Dowell of Gallatin, reserve.

Chester White – Bailey Pope, supreme; Emily Swindler of Braymer, reserve.

Hampshire – Tyler Alden, supreme; Kasey Hibler of Chillicothe, reserve .

Spotted Poland – Jessica Black of Chillicothe, supreme.

Tamworth – Ben Radcliff of Chillicothe, supreme and reserve.

Crossbreed – Adam Wolf, supreme; Calvin Stover, reserve.

Breed winners in the boar show included:

Berkshire – Heath Oram, supreme; Stefanie Dowell, reserve.

Chester White – Bailey Pope, supreme. There was no reserve.

Duroc – Nathan Neeley of Galt, supreme; Tonya Moss of Chillicothe, reserve.

Hampshire – Kyla Payne of Gilman City, supreme. There was no reserve.

Spotted Poland – Ross Oram, supreme; Kabel Oaks of Galt, reserve.

Goat and dairy shows were being held today. Tonight?s grandstand entertainment will be bullriding at 8 p.m. A children?s event will be held at 7 p.m.

Friday?s activities begin with the sheep show?s ladies lead competition at 10 a.m., followed by the pee wee show at around 10:30 a.m. The regular sheep show is scheduled to begin at around 11 a.m. Friday night?s grandstand entertainment will feature ATV and motorcycle races at 7 p.m.
