Marie Pixley, a 94-year-old former Jamesport resident, died at 4:36 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004 at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin, where she had resided since March 25, 2004.

Marie Pixley, a 94-year-old former Jamesport resident, died at 4:36 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 2, 2004 at the Lake Viking Health Care Center in Gallatin, where she had resided since March 25, 2004.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 5, 2004 at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Rev. Buck Cueni-Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.

A family visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service time.

Mrs. Pixley was born on April 14, 1910 near Coffey, the daughter of Everett Aquiller and Mary Myrtle House Read. She graduated from Gilman City High School and cosmetology school. She was married to Clark Sealock and they were the parents of a son, Wayne Sealock, who preceded her in death on July 27, 1984. She was married on March 3, 1943 to Perry Harrison, who preceded her in death on March 11, 1963. She was then married on Jan. 31, 1965 to Vern Pixley. She operated beauty shops in Coffey, Edinburg, Jamesport, Chillicothe and Trenton over a period of 40 years.

She was active member of the Jamesport United Methodist Church, a member of the Jamesport Fortnightly Club, a member of the Jamesport Community Club and a past member of the Edinburg Rebekah Lodge for 35 years.

Mrs. Pixley is survived by one sister, Hattie Mae Pilcher of Jamesport; three step-daughters, Carolyn Connors of Pueblo, CO, Dee Singleton of Blue Springs and Susan Pixley of Milan; one daughter-in-law, Carolyn Sealock of Trenton; one great-great-grandson, Taylor Sealock of South Dakota; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lee Read and Ivan Read of Gilman City and Jess Read of the state of California; and several friends.

In addition to her husbands and son, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Brad Sealock; one step-son, C.F. Harrison; two brothers, Lewis and Loren Read; and a special friend, Lowell Beals.
