The Trenton R-9 Board of Education will hold a public hearing on its 2004-2005 levy as part of its regular board meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 10 at the district office.
The hearing will begin at 5:15 p.m. The district is proposing a levy of $4.51 on the $100 assessed valuation, which includes $3.61 in the incidental fund and 90 cents in the debt service fund. The debt service fund is nine cents less than a year ago, however, the incidental fund shows an increase of 86 cents from a year ago, making the levy 77 cents higher than a year ago. The increase is due to a decrease in the county’s assessed valuation coupled with voters approving elimination of the district’s Prop C Tax rollback. The levy is anticipated to generate $2,719,127.94. District officials note the levy could change following a review by the state auditor.
