A major upgrade to Lake Trenton Drive will begin on Monday, including removal of deteriorating asphalt to bring the street back to proper grade as well as the addition of three layers of asphalt.

City Street Supervisor Larry Griffin said the work will be divided into three sections, with the initial work to begin at 3620 Lake Trenton Drive and proceed west to the t-intersection. The second section will proceed at the t-intersection and continue south to the north side of the lake dam. The final section of work will start at the south end of the dam and proceed south to Highway 6.

Griffin anticipates 20 working days to complete the project, should there be no inclement weather. Otherwise, he said the work could take longer. Because of possible time delays due to work being done, residents on Fisherman, Mariner, Sportsman and Hunter roads, north of Lake Trenton Drive, are encouraged to use 28th Street to come into Trenton.

Letters are being sent to residents in the area affected by the work. Persons having questions can contact Griffin at the street department maintenance building, 359-6323.
