The Missouri Department of Transportation crews will apply a protective sealant to approximately nine miles of Highway 65 in Grundy County, beginning on Monday, July 26, weather permitting.
Work will be done from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning at the Grundy-Livingston County line and continuing north to the Muddy Creek Bridge. The chip-seal involves placement of oil and gravel on the driving surface, with a roller being used to work the gravel into the oil. Excess gravel will be removed from the road at a later time.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane in one-mile segments along the route, which is expected to be completed within five days. Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution and choose alternate routes when possible.
