Funeral services for Opal Leeper will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 12, 2004 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton. Burial will be in the Half Rock Cemetery, east of Spickard.
A general visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2004 at the mortuary.
Mrs. Leeper, a 99-year-old resident of the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, died at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at the nursing home, where she had resided since June 4, 1999.
Mrs. Leeper was born on Feb. 16, 1905 on a farm south of Harris, the daughter of Elmer and Minnie Anderson McLin. She was raised in the Harris community.
She was married on Aug. 23, 1928 to Gilbert Leeper, who preceded her in death on March 2, 1988. They lived and farmed all their married life on a farm south of Harris. They retired and moved to Laredo in 1972, then moved to Trenton to make their home in 1983.
She was a member of the Providence Baptist Church at Half Rock.
Mrs. Leeper is survived by one daughter, Beverly, now Mrs. Bob Bennett of Trenton; one grandson, Tracy Bennett of Chillicothe; and one great-grandchild, Patricia Lee Bennett of Homestead, FL.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
The family suggests memorial contributions be left to the donor’s choice.
