James Archie Donelson, an 81-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Sunday, July 4, 2004 at the Crestview Nursing Home in Bethany.
The body was cremated under the direction of the Greenlee-Middle Funeral Service of Princeton. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 9, 2004 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel at Princeton. Rev. Daniel Donelson will officiate.
Mr. Donelson was born Oct. 3, 1922 near Mercer, the son of Roy Albert and Etta Florence Cox Donelson. He was raised in the Mercer area, where he attended rural school. In 1948 he went to California and worked as a finish carpenter for 30 years. He and his companion, Millie DeCoite, moved in 1979 to Princeton, where they made their home. He was a member of the United Brotherhood Carpenters Union #713 of Oakland, CA.
In addition to Ms. DeCoite of the home at Princeton, he is survived by two brothers, Rev. Daniel Donelson and his wife, Helen, of Springfield, and Fred Donelson of Princeton; and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lena McClarnon; and a nephew, Max McClarnon.
