The Spickard R-2 Board of Education met Tuesday night, approving the 2004-2005 budget.

Principal Ruth Ann Shipps said the board approved a budget with projected revenues of $691,459, with anticipated expenditures of $682,387. Ms. Shipps said the board also approved amendments to the 2003-2004 budget, which was 10 percent over in expenditures. She noted that the difference was made up from reserves.

In other business, the board approved the special education assurance plan, the free and reduced lunch program and the Core Data report. Mrs. Shipps gave a report of school attendance, which averaged 96 percent for the year and the board made adjustments in the school calendar affecting make-up days.

The next regular board meeting is scheduled for July 27.
