The Bush administration on Sunday made federal aid available to residents of Missouri counties hit by tornadoes, flooding and severe storms from May 18 to May 31.
The decision makes federal funding available to individuals in the counties of Adair, Andrew, Bates, Benton, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Cass, Cedar, Chariton, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Henry, Hickory, Jackson, Johnson, Knox, Linn, Livingston, Macon, Mercer, Monroe, Nodaway, Platte, Polk, Randolph, Ray, Shelby, St. Clair, Sullivan, Vernon and Worth. The money will include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans for uninsured property losses and other recovery programs.
Residents and business owners who may qualify for the funds can begin applying for assistance Monday by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired.
