A rural Grundy County man was arrested after an Amber Alert was issued Sunday afternoon in an effort to find a three-year-old child who had been taken from his mother?s home in Trenton by his father.

According to the Trenton Police Department, 45-year-old David Thrun of Dunlap was arrested in rural Grundy County after he allegedly took his son from the child?s mother?s home in Trenton. Lt. Rex Ross said he faxed the missing child information to the Missouri Highway Patrol at 12:51 p.m. Sunday and after it was determined that the situation warranted an Amber Alert, it was issued by the patrol. After his father was located by the Grundy County Sheriff?s Department and Missouri Highway Patrol, the child, Jacob Thrun, was taken to the Trenton Police Department, where he was reunited with his mother, Angela Thrun.

Lt. Ross said the mother had filed for an order of protection again Thrun last week, but the defendant had not been served with the papers as of Sunday.

Thrun is being held in the Trenton City Jail in lieu of charges being filed by the Grundy County Prosecutor.
