Mable Ringling, a 80-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Monday, May 31, 2004 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City.
The body was cremated. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2004 at the Mayn Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs MT. A potluck luncheon will be provided at the Meagher Senior Center following the services.
Ms. Ringling was born on March 10, 1924 in New York City. She had resided for 30 years in Harrison, MT. She was the granddaughter of Alfred T. Ringling of the Ringling Brothers Circus. She was a costumed show girl in the late 1940s, riding horses and elephants. She loved animals, especially horses, and raised Arabians. She was a member of the Arabian Horse Association, the Eastern Star, St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Trenton, the Mercer County Women’s Club and the Princeton Country Club. She also served as a 4-H leader for many years in Montana. She had also filed to run for the Mercer County Commission.
She is survived by her daughter, Darcey Lent; a granddaughter, Amanda Reed; two grandsons, Jay and Stephen Getten; five great-grandchildren, Maya, Talia and Ezekiel Reed and Isabelle and Marcus Getten; a brother, Paul Ringling, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Ringling Shelhamer.
