Clifford E. “Pete” Bethards, a 49-year-old resident of Weatherby, died on Sunday, May 30, 2004 at his residence from injuries sustained in a tornado. He was a former resident of Chula.

Clifford E. “Pete” Bethards, a 49-year-old resident of Weatherby, died on Sunday, May 30, 2004 at his residence from injuries sustained in a tornado. He was a former resident of Chula.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 4, 2004 at the Hamilton United Methodist Church in Hamilton. Burial will be in the Haysville Cemetery, north of Meadville.
A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2004 at the Bram Funeral Home in Hamilton.
Mr. Bethards was born on June 11, 1954 in Trenton, the son of Doyle and Elsie Hunter Bethards. He grew up in the Humphreys area and graduated from Meadville High School in 1972. He had been baptized in the Church of Christ at Chillicothe.
He was married on May 31, 1974 at Chillicothe to Janet James, who survives of the home.
Mr. Bethards worked for Modine Manufacturing in Trenton for 29 years as a floor supervisor. He also farmed and had worked the past year at the Western Missouri Correctional Center in Cameron.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Elsie Bethards of Chillicothe, formerly of the Humphreys community; three daughters, Michelle and Monica Bethards of Chula and Melissa of the home; two granddaughters, Autumn and Adriana; a sister, Dorothy Silvey of Hamilton; two brothers, Charles of Colleyville, TX and Robert of Huntington Beach, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Donna Sue.
Memorial contributions have been suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.
