Garl N. Clark, a 79-year-old resident of Pattonsburg, died on Sunday, May 16, 2004.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2004 at Clark?s Wagon Wheel, north of Pattonsburg. Burial will be in the McFall Cemetery in McFall. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post No. 2176 and American Legion Post No. 216 of Bethany and VFW Post No. 5329 and American Legion Post No. 106 of Albany. A dinner will be served after the services at Clark?s Wagon Wheel.
General visitation begins at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2004 at the Roberson Funeral Home in Pattonsburg. A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Clark was born on Aug. 22, 1924 in Gentry County, the son of Norman and Mabel Persinger Clark. He was married on July 4, 1947 at Pattonsburg to Rosalie Newton, who preceded him in death on April 5, 2004.
Mr. Clark was a farmer with his wife for many years. They also owned and operated Clark?s Wagon Wheel, north of Pattons-burg, where they held many senior citizen days and fund-raisers for the American Heart Association.
Mr. Clark served with the 775th Tank Battalion during World War II in the Philippines. Following the war he attended agriculture school. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 8824 of Pattons-burg and the NFO, was a longstanding member of the saddle club and participated in the Pattonsburg Car Show. He also attended the Oak Ridge Christian Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Connie Evans of Savannah; one son, Shane Clark of St. Joseph; three granddaughters, Shelle Costanada, Rose Evans and Alea Finch (Clark); one grandson, Michael Parton (Clark); a great-granddaughter, AshLynn Nichole Evans; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Elmo Clark.
