Charles H. Boyer, a 91-year-old resident of Gilman City, died on Friday, May 14, 2004 at a Bethany health care center.

Charles H. Boyer, a 91-year-old resident of Gilman City, died on Friday, May 14, 2004 at a Bethany health care center.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today (Monday, May 17, 2004) at the Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany. Burial was in the Hill Cemetery at Gilman City.
Mr. Boyer was born Feb. 13, 1913, south of Gilman City, the son of Thomas Mitchell and Margaret Cordilia Wynne Boyer. He farmed most of his life and did butchering until his retirement. He was active with the Gilman City Senior Citizen Center, delivering meals. He later helped with the Pattonsburg Senior Citizen Center until his retirement in 2003. He was a member and served as an elder at the Jameson Christian Church and later at the Highway Christian Church in Bethany.
He was married on June 20, 1933 at the Presbyterian parsonage in Gallatin to Alpha Troxell, who survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by three daughters, Charlene Ballenger and her husband, larry, of Kearney, Nancy McNeely and her husband, Maurice, of Pattonsburg, and Margaret Kindig and her husband, Terry, of Las Vegas, NV; one son, Bud Boyer and his wife, JoAnn, of Lenexa, KS; 16 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Richard Lee; his grandparents; and a grandson, Jeffrey McNeely.
