Melvin Kincaid,a 69-year-old resident of Galt, died on Thursday afternoon, April 29, 2004 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2004 at the Payne Funeral Home at Galt. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery, west of Galt.

Mr. Kincaid was born on Feb. 6, 1935 in Galt, the son of Cecil and Anna Hessenflow Kincaid. He attended the Galt and Forrest Hills schools. He lived with his family and farmed with his father on a farm west of Galt. He had resided in Buchanan and Gentry counties since June 1986. He had returned to the family farm, west of Galt, in 2000 to reside.

Mr. Kincaid was a member of the Salem Methodist Church near Galt. He attended the Worth Baptist Church while living in Gentry County and attended the Wesley United Methodist Church at Trenton since returning home.

He is survived by one sister, Velda Kincaid of Eastview Manor Care Center at Trenton; and several cousins, including Gladys Fister and Eleanore Campbell.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family has requested memorial contributions to the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton.
