Hubert Max Wilson, a 78-year-old resident of Humeston, IA, died on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.

The body was cremated. Inurnment and graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2004 at the Evergreen Cemetery in Lineville, IA. Rev. Max Carmichael will officiate. Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Service of Lineville is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Wilson was born on June 5, 1925 in Lineville, the son of John Griffith and Dora Alice Judd Wilson. He was raised in the Lineville area and attended the Pleasant Hill rural school, northwest of Lineville, and Lineville High School. While living in Humeston during the 1960s, he owned five trucks and was in the livestock hauling business for five years. He and his wife farmed in Decatur, Wayne and Clark counties, retiring in 1984 and moving to Humeston. He and his wife have spent the winter months in the Phoenix and Apache Junction, AZ communities the past 30 years.

He was married on March 17, 1946 in Leon, IA, to Madeline Louise Beavers, who survives of the home.

Other survivors include one sister, Josephine Johnson of Lineville; one brother, John Wilson Jr. of Kingman, AZ; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Kenneth Carl Wilson; and one sister, Elaine Collins.
