Hobert Eugene ?Gene? McIntosh, a 75-year-old resident of Cameron, died on Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at his home near Cameron.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2004 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton. Rev. Jerry Reed will officiate. Burial will be in the Early Cemetery, south of Mercer.

General visitation is under way at the funeral home. A family visitation will be held from 7 to 8 o?clock tonight (Friday, April 23, 2004).

Mr. McIntosh was born on Feb. 2, 1929 near Mercer, the son of Gerald Lowell and Alta Merl McKinney McIntosh. He was raised in Mercer County. He attended the White Oak and Middlepoint rural schools, the Mercer grade school and Mercer High School. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the Army for four years. After his service in the Army he worked in the restaurant business. He was employed by Earl?s Cafe in Gallup, NM for 13 years and later owned and operated several restaurants in the Gallatin and Cameron areas, including the Viking Truck Stop and Restaurant near Winston.

Mr. McIntosh is survived by two daughters, Cathy Hornaday and her husband, Robert, of Salem, OR, and Carol Bennett and her husband, Jim, of Fayetteville, AR; one son, Eugene McIntosh and his wife, Lisa, of Wynne, AR; five brothers, Tommy McIntosh of Blythe, CA, Danny McIntosh of Spickard, Max McIntosh and his wife, Sue, of Princeton, Arlan McIntosh and his wife, Erma, of Bonham, TX and Lee McIntosh and his wife, Nita, of Wichita, KS: two sisters, Kathleen Wilson of Gallup, NM and Mary Lowe of Albuquerque, NM; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ted, Jimmie and Jerry McIntosh; and two sisters, Juanita Greenup and Ruth Reed.
